Building the first LEED Certified Home in Wellesley
Owner Mike Lane was featured on Planet Greens, “Renovation Nation.” A show where former “This Old House” Steve Thomas, uncovers what it takes to go green.
In this episode, Mike explains to Steve what it took to get this Wellesley custom home build (pictures below), LEED Certified.
Steve reports, “One of the team’s collective objectives is to make this house as energy efficient as possible and to have it fit into the neighborhood, Moreover, they want it to be a showcase for sustainable design.“
LEED is an external, nonprofit organization that (by using a points system) certifies that the house has reached a certain level of energy efficiency and with minimal impact to the environment.

Mike did our renovation for our Boston harbor condo. We needed a complete reno of our kitchen and first floor. His team was on time, efficient and kept the place in clean order while completing the reno. This was important to us because we were nervous about renoing our home.
